Bot Handling

Once a bot is detected, the system responds based on threat level:
  1. Harmful or high-volume traffic (e.g., DDoS and abusive bots) is blocked immediately, metrics collection is deprioritized in these cases to prevent system overload.
  2. Sophisticated, human-like bots are flagged for review and redirected away from the destination.
  3. Standard detected bots have the visit recorded as a metric and are redirected away from the destination.

Users on Free/Starter plans see:
  • Total bot click count
  • Bot ratio (%)
  • Limited link-level analysis

Growth & Scale Plans (or 5K+ Tokens)

Full access to:
  • Real vs Bot Traffic Pie Chart
  • Geographic Heatmap (bot origins by country)
  • Link-Level Analysis Table (sortable, searchable)
  • Top Bot Sources (device/OS/browser breakdown)

1. Behavioral Heuristics

Planned Checks:
  • Click Velocity: >10 clicks/sec from same fingerprint
  • Geographic Anomalies: Impossible travel speeds
  • Referrer Patterns: Known scraper referrers

2. Real-Time Threat Feed

Integration: Partner with threat intelligence providers
Capability: Block known bad IPs, ASNs, and bot networks
Update Frequency: Real-time via WebSocket

3. CAPTCHA Integration

Trigger: Suspicious clicks
